Forum Jewellers is proud to introduce the world’s most desired gemstone, Tanzanite. The world’s only known source of tanzanite is a single location at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in northern Tanzania, East Africa. Discovered in only 1967, Tanzanite is now recognized as 1000 times rarer than diamonds. Tanzanite’s colour, poised intriguingly between blue and violet, is unlike any other gemstone.
In 2002 the American Gem Trade Association selected tanzanite as a December Birthstone. Besides being recognised as the birthstone, Tanzanite will, because of its limited availability, become the gemstone of just one generation, adding to its appeal as an heirloom, to be handed down to future generations.
Described as the investment gem of the millennium, Tanzanite is a diminishing resource with perhaps only a decade or so before its single source is depleted.
